Mav's Unessay
This Unessay examines how Nicole Dennis-Benn’s Novel, Here Comes the Sun, considers the exploitation, displacement, and punishment that [black] Jamaicans are subjected to by the Tourism Industry. Using a mixture of scholarship, literature, and primary sources [e.g., maps, briefs, newspaper articles.], I explore the novel’s scrutiny of the unrestricted control and penetration exercised by influential figures over the land and bodies of black women. Therefore, investigating how violence and harm are perpetuated beyond the confines of the narrative.
